St. Andrew's Church was the scene of a notable wedding yesterday afternoon, when Mr. J. N. Hansen was united in holy matrimony to Miss Creba. The bridgegroom is the son oi Air. C. Hansen, of Motvi, and tho bride is the niece 87 Airs. AY. D. S. MacDonald, of YYhakarau. She was given away by Air. YY T . D. S. AlacDonald, ALP., and Die ceremony was conducted by Rev. E. AY. AYalker. The bride was tastefullv gowned in cream Oriental satin, with the bodice trimmed with tucked chiffon, and she also wore .< veil and orange blossoms. Her bridesmaids were Misses Gertie Hansen, Vera, Ella and Roie AlacDonald. The three latter were dressed in white, and Miss Hanson wore a cream dress and white hat. Air. 0. Hansen was bestman, and Air. Fred. Hansen groomsman. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold watch and chain,' and the bridesmaids received gold broodies. Aifter the ceremony the guests were entertained at the Alexandra tea rooms, and Air. and Airs. Hansen left in the evening for the South by the s.s. Alokoia.
PEARSON—ROCHE. In St. Alary’s Catholic Church yesterday morning a quiet wedding was solemnised, when Aliss Roche, eldest daughter of Air. F. Roche, was united in matrimony to Air. R. E. Pearson. The bride’s sister, Aliss D. Itoche, acted as bridesmaid, and Air. A. Langford officiated as best man. The Rev. Father Lane was the officiating clergyman. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party proceeded to the residence of the bride’s parents where a reception was held.
LEWIS—ROBERTSON. A very pretty wedding took place yesterday afternoon at St. Andrew's Church, the contracting parties being Mr. W. Lewis and Miss Alice Robertson, daughter of Mr. A. Robertson. The bride looked charming in a becoming .gown, Empire style, of creme silk voile, with a (panel of real lace, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet. The bridesmaids, Miss I. Robertson and Miss Fryer (Wellington) were attired in smart gowns of pale- heliotrope silk, with picture hats to match. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Robertson, junr., as best man, and Mr. P. Allen as groomsman. The wedding breakfast■was served at the residence of the bride’s parents, where a large marquee was erected on the lawn. About 40 guests were present, including many old friends of the family. There were a number of costly presents, including gifts from Messrs Win. Pettie and Co., Ltd., and the Gisborne Hockey Club. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a beautiful gold pendant, and he gave a handsome gold brooch to each of the bridesmaids. The usual toasts were given, and best wishes expressed for. the future happiness of ,the young couple, who are held in high esteem in the district. Numerous telegrams were received from different parts of the Dominion and New South Wales. The hapnv couple left for Wellington last night on their honeymoon, and have the good wishes of their numerous
friends. Miss Fishenden played the Wedding March as the -couple were leaving the church. On the eve of his marriage, Mr. Lewis -.was made the recipient of a silver spirit kettle and stand from Ins fellow employees in Messrs Win. Pettie and Co.’.s, and a Barge armchair from his fellow boarders.
