SUPREME COURT.
PALMERSTON SITTINGS
[Teii Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., Feb. 19. At the Supreme Court yesterday, Thos. Powell was found not guilty on a charge of supplying an illegal instrument.
TIAIARU SITTINGS. TIAIARU, Feb. 19. Two Supreme Court reserved judgments of Justice Sim were received yesterday. In one case, the AYaimate County heavy traffic and traction engine by-law was upheld. One point was that the weight of the vehicle is part of the “load on the wheels.” In tho other ease the claim was that of the Farmers’ Association against D. Lindsay, farmer, for CSOO under a guarantee in the interest of his sen. a farmer, butcher, and storekeeper. It was disallowed on the ground that defendant was not informed as lie ought to have been by plaintiffs, of the son’s • financial position, which was such that, as the Judge said, tho guarantee, instead of being a contingent one, was an absolute liability.
