APPOINTMENT OF MEDICAL OFFICERS.

The Minister in charge or the PublicHealth Department (Hon. 1). Buddoj says the reorganisation or that Department is now complete, i lie iii:al pointment has now been made, and is that of District Health Officer for
Dunedin, and bacteriological lecturer to Otago University. A -New Zealander, with high credentials, Dr. Sidney T. C’hamptaloup, who graduated at Edinburgh, has been appointed to this position. This will enable a oac-terologi.-.t to be available for each Island, namely. Dr. Chaniptaloup in the South and Dr. McGill. who will also Le District, Health Officer, at Auckland. The other District Health Officers are: Dr Frengley (Wellington), Dr. Finch (Christchurch), and Dr. DeLislc (Napier). They will be expected to undertake advisory work to local authorities, as well as their ordinary duties. "With regard to the Health inspectors. Mr. Buddo states that they are practically the same as before, but their districts have been extended.
