NEW COALMINE SYNDIGATE.
TO OPERATE IN VICTORIA
United Press Association —Copyright SYDNEY, Feb. 19.
A company representing some of the leading shipping and colliery interests has -been formed in Sydney to work a coalmine at Powlett river, Victoria. The company has secured 1400 acres near the Victorian State mine, and expects to start work at an early date. The reason assigned for the formation o,f the company is that- the Victorian legislation is more favorable to mining operations. No bar is offered to the employment of free labor, and therefore there is less risk of shipping and other industries being blocked in the event of strikes in other centres.
