A Socialist “right to work” demonstration in Trafalgar Square denounced the Labor Exchanges as “vote-catching make-believes,” and attacked the Labor party for “sacrificing the unemployed to the welfare of Liberalism.”

Messrs W. Wedgewood Bonn, M.P. for St. George’s, Tower Hamlets, and Mr. E. J. Soares, M.P. for Barnstaple, have been appointed Junior Lords of the Treasury. Both appointments necessitate. by-elections. Mr. E. S. Montague, M.P. for West Cambridge, becomes Parliamentary Under-Secre-tary for India, and Captain Cecil Norton, M.P. for Newington. Assistant-Postmaster-General.
TRANSVAAL WAR LOAN TO BE
RENEWED

The “Daily Express” states that the Government has determined to renew the Transvaal War loan of £21,339,603, due on April sth. This will necessitate legislation taking precedence of the veto question.
PAYMENT OF LABOR MEMBERS
(Received February 22, 12.5 a.m.) The Cotton Operatives’ (Association is debating the possibility of continuing payments to members of Parliament, owing to the depletion of trade union funds.
