MAYOR DIES AT THE COUNCIL TABLE.
TPkr Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 21. Mr. John Hayes, Mayor of AYoolston, died suddenly while presiding over a meeting of the AVoolst-on Borougn Council to-night. The. deceased was subject to heart trouble. A certificate will be given by a doctor. Mr. Hayes was formerly a police constable, and retired from' the force some years ago on superannuation.
