MATAAYHERO STOCK SALES

The weekly sale oi stock was held at the Mata where yards yesterday, there being a fair attendance of buyers. An exceptionally big yarcWng of 29,000 sheep was entered, with about 300 head of cattle. The latter portion of the sheep sale dragged, and it was getting on for. 5 p.in. before store cattle were offered. By this time the number of buyers had greatly <1 wind led, and a good many lots of cattle were passed in.

Eat sheep sold briskly, the entry being* quickly disposed of. Ewes brought up’to 10s su, and a small line of lambs sold for 8s Od. Store sheep sold well up to the luncheon adjournment, but after this buyers seemed to have vanished, and lots were hard to quit. 'The many lines that were passed in, however, mostly changed hauus 'privately. There were a considerable number of rams entered, and these sold well, a pen of 19 Romneys at 34 gns being the best rale.
