GISBORNE CLUB
There was a very strong muster of the members of the Gisborne BoAvhng Club on their green yesterday afternoon. Several match games and a number of ordinary games Avere got off. The green was in very good order, and play Avas very enjoyable. The match games iplayed consisted of one in the second round of ithe Second Handicap Fours, one for the Eure Stars, and two. in the Colts’ Singles. The folloAving Averc the players and scores: —Second Handicap Fours. — Zachariah, Williams, J. H. Martin, Coleman (skip) (4pts) 26, beat Seymour, Bullock; W. Pottie, Smith (skip) (opts) 24.—-The early stages of the game Avere in favor of Coleman, who on the 10th head had scored 18 to Smith’s 11 —handicap ulloArar.cos being added in each ease. The tide of fortune then turned, and Smith scored on six consecutive heads, so that on the 16th he had a load of two points, 20 to 18. Coleman got in a single on the 17th head, and Smith responded Avith three on the ISth. On the 19tli Coleman, had the good fortune to score five, and thus, obtained a lead of one point. 24 t 0.23. _ Smith equalised matters by getting in a single on the 20Ui head, and on the final and deciding head Coleman scored two, 'winning aii excellently played game by that number.

Paltridge, Robertson (sub), Smith, Greig (skip) (holders) 19, heat Burton, Zacbariali, Mackintosh, Eure (skip) (challengers) 17.—The scores sufficient13’ indicate the character of the play, which was very even throughout. Greig’s rink have now successfully resisted three attempts to wrest the stars from them. —Colts’ Singles.—

TURANGANUI CLUB. The Turanganui Bowling Club’s green was in splendid howling order yesterday afternoon, when there was a good attendance of players. A large number of ladies were also present, and took a keen interest in the games played. Afternoon tea was furnished by the Vice-President (Mr. D. Hepburn), and was much .appreciated by players and visitors. The ladies who kindly dispensed the refreshments were -Mrs. Soffo and Miss Williams. No matches were played, but several enjoyable practice games were indulged in.
The second round in the President’s Fours is to bo commenced to-morrow afternoon, when Greig’s and McWhirter’s rinks have arranged to meet.
