OBITUARY.

AIRS. AV. H. TUCKER

Another of the old settlers of the district in the person of Airs. Ay . H. fucker, wife of the Hon. Captain fucker, M.L.C., passed away at an early hour yesterday morning. The deceased lady arrived here with her husband :u loop, ami at the time of the massacre J_n 18GS was living at Okitu. .Along with other refugees she then sailed ior JNaj,ier, but upon tlie fall of IN ga to pa. in the following year, she immediately re. turned, and has resided here ever since. The deceased lady, whose disposition was a most lovable one, had a very large circle of friends in the district, and she bore her long and painful illness with exemplary patience and fortitude. The interment takes place m the Alakaraka cemetery at 2 p.m. today.

AIRS. AV. H. FIELD. Airs. TV. H. Field, who was connected with tlie AVaerenga-a-hika Alission Station, dual early yesterday morning. The deceased lady, who was the eldestdaughter of Airs. Poulson, was only 24 vears of age. The funeral leaves her late residence at 3 p.m. to-morrow for the Alakaraka cemetery.

Air. G. R. Alarriner, F.K.AI.S., curator of the museum, died in the hospital this morning after a painful illness. He was a man of high scientific attainments, and an enthusiast in ail scientific matters. [Air. Alarriner, who was at one time a -member of the staff of "the CantOiburv Museum, was well known throughout New Zealand, and had mauv friends in Gisborne. It is understood that the cause of his death was appendicitis.]
