A splendid coal seam has been found at Katoomba. It is believed to bo a continuation of the Lithgow seam.

AN OVER-TURNED BOAT. The steamer Thist-leroy, from the Tyne, reports that .during a heavy gale on January' 23rd, in latitude 39 south longitude'2l east, she passed an overturned boat painted white. It was covered with marine growth. There was no sign of wreckage in the vicinity.

The teller rushed for a- revolver. The man .jumped over the counter and grabbed 70 sovereigns from a gold tray and then escaped.
