.Herr Delbruck, German Minister of the Interior, speaking in the Diet, said that now Britain was on the verge of protection Germany must examine whether the weapons which the tariff had given her were properly wielded, and whether they were sufficient to secure the results desired by industries. Commenting on the commercial relations with . Canada, he added: that German goods were still differentiated as compared to -those of Britain, and some British colonies and France, but this preference amounted for the majority of 'articles to 2} per cent.
