Tthe Tologa Bay Jockey Club brought their meeting to a> close on Saturday. The racing was very good, ancl several very close finishes were witnessed. As usual, Mt. AV. E. Holder had all arrangements well in hand, and everything passed off successfully. The Hauiti Band was again, dn attendance, and rendered seleotions during ■the aiternoon, "while Mr. Wootton, as caterer, attended to the wants of the public in ibis usual excellent style. Five bookmakers were licensed. The totalisator takings showed a marked increase over the previous year, the sum of iGoBGS being handled, as against £3877 <in 1909.

From a good start Manupai led the •field, closely followed by Ramuira and •Santiago. From a good start Niwaru and Master Stead drew away, followed by AVaimaori and Illustrious. Along the back stretch Master Stead and Niwaru raced together, until the home turn was entered, when Niwaru gradually drew away and won by half-a-length, the same distance separating the second and third horses: Time, lmin 20sec. • This proved to be one of the best races of the day. From the start Auldearn took the lead, but at the back stretch all the horses were together. On entering the stretch for home Rnrata put in a strong run, just managing to pass the winning post a nose in front of Auldearn, Swarthmoor being three lengths away third. Time, lmin 47sec.

Anchor Head made the running, with IJirini and Durability lying handy. About half-way up the back stretch Hirini and Durability moved to the front, and racing along the home bend passed tlie post together. Anchor Head being two lengths' behind. Ardfert was first to tlie front, closely followed by Niwaru and Spate, this order being maintained until entering the straight, when Spate put in a strong challenge, which, however, Ardfert ■.managed "to stall off, and win by half-a-length. Niwaru was a length away third. Time, lmin 33sec. The racehorses Anchor Head and Rose Lethe, which were each successful at the Tologa Bay meeting, were shipped to Napier by the s.s. Taraw-era. last night.

THE FLEAIINGTON MEETING. United Press Association—Copyright (Received Feb. 27, 5.45 p.m.) FLEMINGTON, Feb. 26. The autumn meeting of the premier racing club opened in splendid weather. Tlie course was in good order, and the attendance good.- "The racing was less interesting than usual, as the winners of at least three, namely, the Loger Sires Produce, and Essendon Stakes, were regarded as foregone conclusions. The withdrawal of the New Zealand horses, Bobrikoff _and Downfall, robbed the weiglit-for-age races of much interest. Tlie results wore :
The Pines.—Silvery Port 1, The Gaul 2, Lord Desmond 3. Won easily by two lengths. Time, 3min 47-Jsec. Lcger. Prince Foote ... ... 1 Aloruga ... ... ... 2 Flavian ... ... ... 3 —Prince Foote took the lead at the six furlongs post, the others fighting for second place. Won by twenty lengths, one length between second and third. Time, 2min o£sec. Newmarket Handicap.—Mala 1, Mult King 2, Flavinius and Queen of Scots 3. From a good start Alala, on the rails, got away from Lautoka, Comedy King in the centre, Alalt King, Scobic, with Plush and Captain AYkite on the outside. Ngaruhoe and Flavinius were close up. Five furlongs from the post Alala led by two lengths from Queen of Scots, Comedy King. Pretty Peg, Alalt King, Flavinius and Plush. Alonodonist foil. Alala maintained the lead, with Alalt King gaining slightly, and Flavinius and Queen of Scots racing for third place. AVon by one and a half lengths, with three-quarters of a length between the second and third horses. Time, lmin Issec. Sires Produce Stakes. —Beverage 1, Gigandra 2, Bobadea. 3. The other starters were: Eager. St. Tano, and Lager. The last-mentioned was first away, and at a furlong led from Gigandra, Beverage, a.nd Tano. At five furlongs Gigandra ran all over the course. Beverage caught up and passed easily, and won by four lengths, three lengths between second and third. Time, lmin 6sec.
Essendon Stakes. —Alawa 1, Pendil 2, Diaholo 3. The other starters were: Lord" Nolan and Mushka. Lord Nolan led into the straight irom Alawa, Mus’ka, Pendil, and Diabolo. Alawa took charge at the distance, and won bv five lengths. Time, 2min 39£-sec. Brunswick Stakes—Wedding Present 1, Endenholm 2. Yarrabnr 3. Other starters, were: Kerlie, Plunder, Carl. Dour, Mattoureo. Nobel. Active, Blind Ha.rrv, Trello. A 7 "ouni. Francis. Perilous, Port Logan, and Terova. AVon by one and a. quarter lengths, two and a half lengths between second and third.
