SENSATIONAL TRIAL IN AMERICA
United Press Association —Copyright NEW YORK. Feb. 27. A sensational trial is proceeding, Allds, a leading Republican Senator of New York State, being accused of receiving a bribe in 1901. Senator Conger, of the American Bridge Company, affirms that bills regulating trams, telephones, and railways were frequently introduced for blackmailing purposes. Conger’s companies maintained special .corruption funds. The accusation of Senator Allds was due to a Bridge Bill being finally enacted. Frank Conner, the Senator’s brother, paid p\o Allds and other legislators.
