The butter factories delegates consider. that as butter grading lias been a failure here and in New Zealand, they should urge the Federal Government to discontinue the system and acoept a certificate under the Pure Foods Act.
A CENTENARY FUND. Tlie sum of £5500 lias been subscrib. ed by the Methodist Conference towards the Centenary Fund.
ACCIDENT ON CARGO STEAMER
The steel mainmast of the cargo steamer Myra fell and carried away when a ton of bullion was belli"- hoisted from the hold. A number of laborers had a narrow escape. The accident was caused by the forehead stay of the mast not being set Up.
