Mr C. J. Crawford, at present Mayor of -the suburban borough of Miramar, has agreed to stand for the Wellington Mayoralty. Messrs T. M. A\ locsd, M.P., and J. R. Luke, M.P.. are mentioned as probable candidates. The Hon. J. A. Millar reached Folding on Mondav night. He was welcomed' by the Chamber of Commerce and Mayor yesterday morning. In beautiful weather ho started .on a 100-nule motor car trip through Apiti. RangiAValiia, and Waituna. He was banqueted last night by the Redding Chamber of Commerce. Mr. AY. A. Barton, S.M., returns from the Coast this evening. * The following passengers arrived by Messrs J. R . Redstone and Son’s coach yesterday afternoon: —-From AA'aipiro, Mrs Dick and three children, and three Natives: from Tologa Bay, Messrs Crook, Furniss, J. Atkins and Campbell.
