r Pic it Piiess Association. | ; WELLINGTON, March 8. Eliza Jane Annis, wife of Richard Annis, seaman> of Wellington, sued Frank J. Rayner, proprietor of the American Dental Parlors, for £250 damages for alleged bodily injury occasioned by the extraction of teeth. The ease was heard by the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout). Mr Wilford stated that plaintiff had . gone to the American Dental Parlors, and had eleven teetli extracted from the lower jaw. Plaintiff’s mouth was bleeding very much after the operation. The Parlors were communicated with, and plaintiff was told to use hot and cold water. At 8 o’clock the manager (Mr Mard«n) went to plaintiff’s house and 'plugged up the holes, but this did not stop the bleeding. Later plaintiff found that one of the plugs hud been left in her gums. His client claimed that the treatment was unskilful and negligent. Plaintiff’s gums and jaws were lacerated, which brought on neuritis. At the present time plaintiff was in a very weak state of health. The defence was a total denial of negligence and unskilful treatment. After hearing the evidence His Honor gave judgment for defendant without costs. He said he was unable to see that- the evidence had shown that the defendant Company was guilty of negligence or carelessness.
