M. Duez, liquidator in several religous associations, has been arrested in Paris on a charge of misappropriating £200,000. Duez attributes his defalcations to unlucky speculation on the racecourse. The frauds wore first discovered a year ago. Duez pleaded that it was necessary to examine 100,000 documents in order to establish innocence, and thus avoided arrest.
