LORD KITCHENER AT NAPIER
[Per Press Association.] NAPIER, March 13. Lord Kitchener, in continuation of his private tour of New Zealand, arrived here yesterday evening by motor car from Auckland via Rotorua and Taupe. iHe paid' a visit to the oountry to-day. THE PREMIER’S MOVEMENTS. The Premier arrived in this district last night from the north by motor car and left this morning for Wairarapa en route to Wellington. WANGANUI ARSON CASE. WELLINGTON, March 12. The Chief Jusice to-day granted a change of venue in the case Joseph PDavis and Martin Haines, who have l-con committed for trial at Wanganui, on a charge of wilfully __setting fire to shops at Wanganui. Mr. Wiiford. m making the application, said the. feeling of indignation in Wanganui over the case was at such fever-heat that it was impossible for the accused to lie tried by a jury that was not inflamed by public prejudice against them. The Crown opposed the application.
