RESULTS OF VOTING CONTEST

Very great interest was taken in the “New Zealand Times” voting contest, which closed last night. Several thousand people thronged the streets outside the “Times” office to hear the result which was announced shortly alter li o’clock by Mr T. M. Milford, M.P. The friends of Miss Maude Bodmin, resident of Lower Hutt, who is employed in the Treasury Department at Wellington, worked very hard throughout the day, and their efforts were successful. The principal results of the contest are as follows: —First prize, trip round the world, Miss Bodmin, 3,174,815 votes; second prize, piano value one hundred guineas, William Webb, Wanganui, 1,557,215 votes; third prize, motor cycle, valued £GO, E. Gallichan, Wellington, 1,218,193 votes; fourth prize, trip round Australia, E. A. Connelly, Pefone, 1,059,255 votes; fifth prize, gold'watch, value £2O, E. Taylor, Wellington, 714,180 votes.
