fFitOM Our Own Correspondent.] The promoters of the Motu sports, which took place on St. Patrick’s Day, were favored with glorious weather for their annual fixture. Although the gathering was not so large as on some previous occasions, there was a goodly crowd and some excellent sport. The officials are to he congratulated on the way in which the sports were conducted; every event was above suspicion oi bias or favoritism. Gisborne tradesmen were very generous in donating trophies for competition. Although there was no policeman in the district, the conduct of the ci’owd was excellent.

The trophy competed for was a handsome silver cup donated by Mr AV. A. O’Meara. The scratch man, J.
