A meeting of Alaoris was held in To Rau College last evening, the Rev. F. AA 7 . It was decided to form the club, which will probabL- be called “Yo'nng Alaori Party Club,” anil the principal of Te, Rail-* College (Rev. F. AA 7 . A meeting will be held on AA T ednesday, Alarch 30, at 7.30 n.in., at Te Rau College, w'ben the election of officers and other matters in connection with the club will be dealt with. GISBORNE CLUB. The annual meeting of the Gisborne Rugby Football Club was held in Arorse’s Central Saloon last night. Air. C. Alorse occupied the chair, and there w'as a fairlv good attendance of members. The hon. sec. (Air AI. B. Ansell) read the following report, which was unanimously adopted:—“ln presenting to you this second annual report, I must congratulate the club on the successful season last year. AA 7 e filled tho place of runners-up, and only lost the championship by one point (a draw). Our position at the end of the season was 10 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws, or 22 points. I attribute the loss of the championship to the fact of our liaving to play our games while the representative team were away on tour. Four of our club players were included in the team to represent Poverty Bay, and they covered themselves with gloryon the trip. AVe finished the season with, a very successful smoke concert, and we have to thank His AVorship the Alayor (Air. AA 7 . D. Lysnar) for the capable manner in which he presided over it. AA 7 e went in for a training hall last season, and though it helped to improve our play it turned out a loss financially. AVith regard to the club’s financial position, we have not come out of the season with a very large credit balance. A\ 7 e. had some very heavy expenses and several presentations, which should have been paid out of the members’ pockets, but had to come from the club funds. AVe have finished .the year with a credit balance of nine shillings and ninepence, and with the amount of £7 7s 6d from the previous season, our treasurer has now in hand £7 17s 3d to start the season with. I hope that this year the E layers will roll up to practices much etter than they did last year, and not only be able to take the field in good condition, but that they will be able through combined! practising to thoroughly understand each other’s nlay. A\ 7 e have to thank the fallowing gentlemen for presenting medals last year, Alessrs D. J. Barry, J. F. Pettie, R. T. Seymour, J. -E. Newton, R. Robertson, 11. J. Grieve, and AV. H. Douglas. In concluding this report I have to thank the committee and officials of the club for the manner in which they all worked to make the season so pleasant and successful,' and I trust that this year’s committee will be as hard-wokin,g and energetic as last. Trusting that this year the club will regain the coveted trophy, ‘The Lysnar Challenge Banner.’ ”
