[Professor Agassiz was 75 years old, having been born at Neuchatel, Switzerland, in 1835. iHe went to the United States in 184 S and was educated at Harvard. He was specially noted for his researches in marine zoology, and was a jpember of many scientific societies. He was a son of the celebrated Professor Louis Agassiz.].
