RATHE PICTURES

Another delightful series of cinematograph pictures was screened at His Majesty’s Theatre last evening to an exceptionally large and appreciative audience. Tho building was packed by the time the first picture was shown, and every item was most heartily applauded. The scenic films, “Picturesque Switzerland” and “The Valley of Bratland” were very fine, while the dramatic pictures provided some most stirring situations. Another fresh selection of films are promised for tonight, making the third series for the week. 1 The titles of the new dramas look very promising, and being American productions, much may he expected of them. They are as follows :—“Apache Gold,” “The '['rimming of Paradise Gulch,” “Out of the Past,” and “The Tide cif Fortune.” The first two are of the popular AVild AVest theme, and the latter are of a more serious nature. A magnificent scenic series is reported in “Picturesque Rome,” and the latest of the “Path© Animated Gazette” will also he included. Another item which should prove of the greatest interest is “The Funeral of Miss Florence Nightingale,” a most impressive film being obtained of this sad but memorable event. The usual number of comic items will he shown, the funniest being “AA’hen the Cat’s Away,” “Getting Rid of Ma-in-law,” and “The Ton Floor Back.” To-night is the only night this programme will lie shown. Seats may he reserved at Air. Miller’s, where the box plan is on view. AVEST’S PICTURES. There was a good attendance again last night at the Garrison Hall to witness the last screening of the current programme. Every picture was applauded, and Mr. Chirr’s songs, “Nirvana” and “She is Far From the Land,” were well rendered and highly appreciated. An entire change of programme will be screened to-night, when some truly magnificent films will he shown. A powerful drama, entitled “The Shadow’of a Crime,” holds chief place, displaying as it does Ame fine acting and thrilling scenes. Another gem is entitled “The Old Composer,” which is sure to find favor with the audience. A clever trick film is one entitled “A Lilliputian Circus,” showing the marvel of" ingenuity in producing these films. The humorous element is well provided for in this programme, there being no fewer than five of the best comic pictures procurable, comprising “A Chauffeur’s Dream,” a laugh from start to finish; “The Baffled Burglar,” and “A Cure for Bashfulness.” One of tho famous Autograph productions. “A AVell-paid Situation,” and “.Juggins on Skates,” complete a strong list of humor. Altogether this promises to be one of the most attractive programmes ever shown here. Tho management announce that they are arranging for further novelties, with the object of giving their patrons the best procurable.
