Healy and Beaurepaire raced together until eleven hundred yards, when both spurted for the remainder of the journey. Longworth won by 20 yards, Healy being three yards ahead of Beaurepaire. The time was six seconds better than Healy’s record, and 22 seconds better than Beaurepajre’s fastest. Hardwick and' Springfield finished, but were a considerable distance behind.
