THURSDAY COMPETITION. Y.M.C.A. DEFEAT UNITED. The Thursday competition was resumed at Victoria Domain yesterday afternoon in fine and very warm weather. TO-MORROW’S MATCHES. In consequence of Wanderers having defeated Y.M.C.A. by over an innings last Saturday, these two teams will have an off-day as far as competition matches are concerned to-morrow. A match has been arranged between a team picked from the Wanderers and Y.M.C.A. and an eleven from Williamson’s Opera Company, to be played on the Domain to-morrow afternoon, commencing at 1.45 o’clock. The following eleven will represent the local side: — Young, McMahon, Glennie, Moore, Mc--Connell, Maude, Mill, Jones, T. Gibson,. Pile, and Miller j emergencies, Bullard and Woods. The Opera Company are reported to have a strong side, and the game should be well worth witnessing. The usual charge of 6d will be made for admission. United and Taruheru will resume their unfinished game at Taruheru tomorrow afternoon.
The following will represent Alhambra in their match with the High School at the Domain to-morrow :—Sugden, Sims, Somerville, Mc-Clisky, Turei, Atkinson, Tremblett, Porter, Porteous, Winter, Wootton, Hunter. Players are requested to be on the ground at 2.15 p.m. The team to represent High School in their match against Alhambra at the Domain to-morrow will he picked from the following:—A. R. Gatland, D. McLeod, G. Porter, F. Harding, T. Pere, R. Gartshore, B. Greig, C. Devery, R. Halbert, A. Coles, D. Mclldowie, S. Hoare, T. Hay, E. Hogg, H. Patterson. All the above players are requested to be at the Domain at 2 p.m.
