MOTOR LAUNCH RACE. The motor launch race for Mr. W. .Samson’s tronhy took place yesterday afternoon in ideal weather conditions. Tlie entry was disappo inti ugly small, only three boats competing. Nevertheless, the contest was a good one, and the finish extremely close, seconds only separating the first two boats ns they passed the winning post. Aster started 40.spc late. The following is the result of the race:— Merry Widow: Hdcp 12min 6sec, 1. Time 54m in 25sec. Waiata: Hdcp Smin, 2. Time, 51 mirt 29sec. Aster: Scratch, 3. Time, 43min 39 sec
