COTTAGE! TOTALLY DESTROYED

On Saturday morning a cottage at Jvanakanaia, owned and occupied by Mr. Sydney Newman, was totally destroyed by_ fire. At the time of the fire Mr. Newman was burning, scrub. He was called bv someone working near the cottage. Arriving on the scene of the fire, Air. Newman found the place ■in flames, it being impossible for him to save anything;. The building was insured for £sl), and furniture and tools for £lO, both risks being held by the National Office. The origin of the fire is unknown, but it is thought that it started in the iron chimney. Air. Newman estimates his loss at £4O above the insurance.,
