[PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.J WELLINGTON, Jan. 23. The following is the Government Meteorologist’s (Mi-. D. C. Bates’) summary and forecast, given at 5 p.m.: The weather has been very warm and hazy everywhere. and winds generally light and variable, but strong westerlies have prevailed in Eoveanx Strait, with heavy seas. The barometer has continued to rise. Present indications are for a slowly falling barometer everywhere. Moderate to strong easterly winds are probable northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and northerly winds elsewhere. The weather will probably continue warm and hazy, but sexually at times in the far south, •
