ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A NARROW ESCAPE

DARGAVILLE, Jan. 25. A man named Legrice, employed at Stewart Bros.’ butter factory, Helcnsville, had a narrow escape from serious accident. When using a heating lamp lie filled it with benzine- in'mistake for kerosene, and on applying a light an explosion followed. Legrice was badly burned. necessitating his removal to the hospital. BUGGY AND MOTOR COLLIDE. WELLINGTON, Jan. 25.
A rather serious accident hapepned. on •the Hutt Road, near Taita. A buggy ■winch was being driven by Mr Olliver, ■containing Mrs Peters, Mrs C'udby, Ina Cudbv, and Mr Aston, attempted to pass another vehicle which was preceding it. A motor car owned by All's Jacob Joseph, also attempted to pass, and the road being narrow, a collision occurred. Ina Cudby, aged three, sustained a broken thigh. Aire Peters was badly bruised and cut, and Air Olliver also sustained injuries. The occupants of the car escaped without injury. Both buggy and car were considerably damaged
