A REPORT TO THE CO-UN OIL

The following report was submitted to the Borough Council at its'meeting last ii ight-: A meeting of the waterworks committee of the Council was held on Tuesday, 17th January, 19.11, at 11 si.ni., there being present the Mayoi, mid Crs. Barton and Hepburn. Air. Marchant’s recommendation regarding the improvements to the intake at the headworks and Flood’s crossing was considered, and it was decided that the Engineer be instructed to take the necessary steps to at once improve the temporary intake on the lines suggested by Air. Marchant, and have a filter box erected in the bed of the creek at both places, the work to be treated as a matter of ur-

gency. - It was resolved that.,the oil supply at the headworks lie increased to a week’s supply. In answer to Or. Cijdlins, the engineersaid that he would -do his best to follow Air. Alarcliant’s instructions, but it was impossible to put a filter bed as low as designed by Air. Marchant. The report was . adopted.
