A HIGHLY SATISFACTORY REPORT. LI’ER PRESS ASSOCIATION^ i WELLIXGTOX, Feb. 10. The annual report of the- Wellington Gas Company states that there was a largo increase in the volume of gas sold. 850 new services being fixed and' 12 miles of new mains being laid. The following is the position of the profit- and loss account: To the manufacture and distribution of gas, repairs, and nenowals of plant, management, interest, bad debts. and miscellaneous charges, £65,862 3s Gel; written off plant, £3354 8s Id; retort- settings, suspense account, £1000; taxation, suspense- account, £500: dividend paid Ist August. 1910, £8196 3s 7d: to profit and loss balance £24.077 ISs 4d; total £103,990 13s 6d; By balance 31st- December, 19C9. £22.640 7s Sd; (loss: dividend paid Ist February, 1910, £7863 12s Id) £14,776 15s 7d; sales of gas. products, goods, etc., £89.213 17s ?lct\ ; total £1037990 13s 6d.. An interim cir.’demd l at- the rate of 5 per cent was paid on called-up capital in August, and a similar dividend is now recommended.
