Representatives of various sports waited upon Sir Joseph Ward this afteinoon ■with- a request that* the Go\ eminent should give monetary assistance towards sending Homo New Zealand athletes to compete at the Festival of Empire sports in connection with the Coronation. Sir Joseph replied sympathetically. He asked that the deputation give full details as to the cost likely to be involved.
