THE NUCLEUS OF A NAVY.
CANADA'S .FIRST TEX SHIPS. Tenders are being solicited privately for the construction of the first ten ships required for Canada’s navy. (July those British and 1 Canadian firms enjoying the confidence of the Government will be invited to tender for tire work, the specifications for which are - L o be kept strictly secret. The vessels to be laid down will include four cruisers of the Bristol class and six of the latest and most approved torpedo-boat destroyers. It is stipulated that the ships must be built in Canada.
