PERSONAL NOTES.
The staff of the ‘‘Gisborne 'limes” assembled yesterday afternoon for the purpose of making a presentation to M-r. L. A. Sharland, liiiqtype expert, who has severed his connection with the firm to take up a similar position on the staff of the “Manawatu Standard.” The preseiitation was made by Mr. J. A. MacTvay, editor and manager, who referred to the very careful and conscientious manner in which Mr. Sharland had always carried out his duties. Eulogistic references were made by several members of the. staff, and Mr. Sharland suitably*.' responded. Mr Teece; E.1.A., IGA.A., E.S.S., general manager of the A.At.l’. ’Society, and Mr Black, a director of the principal board, and also a director of the' Bank of N'ew South Wales, will arrive in Gisborne to-day, on a short visit Nurse Walshe and Nurse Brewer have tendered their resignations from the Gisborne Hospital staff. Air. Anthony Doherty has been appointed by the. Go’k County Council to be Returning Officer for the Patutalii riding.
