They were roasted al most, to skeletons He expressed H e opinion that they had suffered ieailui agony for 15 to 20 minutes. p The inquest was adjourned till Maicn 2nd. THE FATHER'S STATEMENT. Mr. Portcous, father of tlie children, states that he was carrying his wife ana little girl in his arms over the root ot the verandah, when tlie little boy began screaming. His wile struggled to to his assistance. In the struggle tnc little girl fell out on the 'verandah. Portcous dragged his wife to a position of safety, and then collapsed, owing to his own terrible injuries. He saw the children perish. He believes that they did not lire more than 10 seconds alter falling. THE SUFFERERS.
Mrs Porteous remains in a critical condition. The other sufferers are out of danger.
