The Minister for Public Merles says that good progress has been made with the survey of the Napier-G isborne railway, and an early start on the construction may be expected as soon as the survey is completed. For 20 miles from Gisborne, Mr. McKenzie remarks that there are no difficulties in the way of construction, but lie cannot say what the Wa iron-Nani er section is like. He proposes to visit that portion of tlia route next month.
