The A.J.C. increases make the stakes as follows: December Stakes and Summer Cup, £IOOO each; Champagne Stakes £2000; Derby, £5000; and the Villiers Stakes. £6OO. A number _of other races, including the jumping events, have, increased from £4O to £IOO. The St. Leger Stakes (£913) has been increased to £IOOO.
