ENGLISH AMATEUR SWIMMING ASSOCIATION.

[UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, March 6. The English Amateur Swimming Association is not sending a swimmer to Australia in 1911, owing to the Olympic games in 1912. The association has authorised the secretary to negotiate for the visit of a swimmer another year.

AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP.

SYDNEY, March 7

The mile swimming championship resulted: Longworth 1, Wilks 2. Won by 40 yards. Time, 24mini 1 2-ssee —a- record equal to the world’s record. Wright, the other starter, retired. •
