Tlie senior and junior competitions were continued in fine weather at Victoria Domain and Taruherii on Saturday

SENIOR COMPETITION.

UNITED v. WANDERERS.

This match was resumed at Victoria Domain on Saturday afternoon, and resulted in an easy victory for the latter eleven by an innings and 8 runs. On the opening day United had scored while Wanderers had seven wickets down, for 124 runs. On resuming on Saturday last, Wanderers carried their total to* 188 before the last wicket fell. A. Young carried his score from ob (not out) to 106 (not out) and, as on the first day, gave a capital exhibition of batting, making fine strokes all round the wicket. United batting three men short, could only total 83 in their second venture, 01sen (34 not out), A. AlcColl (24) and Hallamore (12) being the- only batsmen to score. P. TARITHERU v. Y.M.O.A. This match wa.fl concluded on Sa.turdav at Taruheru, when Y.M.O.A. won by throe runs. At the conclusion or the previous Saturday’s play laruheru had made 100 in their first innings, and at the call of time Y.M.O.A. had made 74 runs for the loss of five widlcets. On resuming they carried the score to Do before the remaining wickets fell. In their second innings Taruheiu made 72 and Y.M.C.A. replied with 80.
