PLANS APPROVED BY THE BOARD

The plans for the proposed new hospital were submitted by the architects Messrs Atkins and Bacon—and after a considerable amount of discussion, they were approved. It is anticipated that the total cost of the buildings, grounds, furnishing, etc., will be close on £60.000. One-half of this amount will be covered bv the Government subsidy, and the balance is to be distributed proportionately between the Borough of Gisborne and the Cook and Y aikohu Counties.
