CONFLICT BETWEEN POLICE AND
STRIKERS

A violent conflict occurred between the police and stri’keis employed’ on civic contracts at Prince RupertMany persons were shot- with revolvers. 'One striker is dying. Citizens have been sworn in as special constables. Fifty ringleaders have been arrested.
CONFLICT WITH TROOPS AT •BAYONNE. (Received April 9, 5.5 p.m) PARIS, April 9
The dockers are on strike at Bayonne. They strongly barricaded the streets, and volleyed the troops with stones. The barricades were carried at the bayonet point. One striker was fatally injured.
