Ain INDISCREET SPORTSMAN. [Pee peess association..! INVERCARGILL, May 10. At the Invercargill Police Court today Robert Dunlop, a blacksmith, was fined £lO for shooting ducks out of season, and a similar penalty for resisting a ranger. MOTORISTS AT COURT. Six motor drivers were charged with exceeding the speed limit of eight miles an hour. Their counsel raised the point that the by-law was not posted in the streets and the Magistrate dismissed the cases. A TERRITORIAL REVIEW. NEW PLYMOUTH, May 10. Major-General Godlev reviewed tlie local Territorials to-night, and addressed them. He said he was pleased with the material and with the soldierly appearance of the men, and hoped that the compa-nies would be increased to the full strength with the same stamp of men. He warned them that no man was a soldier who did not keep his arms clean. He did not infer that the local arms were not clean, hut there were some such in the Dominion, and suck had to be stopped. He hoped that the old soldiers would stick to the work and stiffen the ranks. General Godley said lie had read the military history of. Taranaki, and was much impressed by it.
A CHILD’S BODY FOUND
CHRISTCHURCH, May 10. The body of a newly-born, female child was found tied, in a -sack in the Aron River at Avonside this afternoon.
