INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION
[.PER PRESS ASSOCIATION..) v, WELLINGTON, May 22. The Industrial Association’s exhibition opens here on Wednesday in order to introduce goods made in New Zealand to the consuming public. There is a wonderful display and range of articles, qiiite equal, and in some respects superior to similar goods imported. The floor space is nearly 8000 1 square feet, compared! with 42,000 ft at ime 1896 exhibition. 1 The sports stadium is a strong feature, providing an area for compettors 240 ft by 88ft, and seating over 1000 spectators. Boxing, tennis, bowling-, athletic and other displays are announced. The Theatre holds over 800 1 of an audience. It has already been leased to English entertainers. In vne art gallery there is a fine collection of pictures. There will be music on the opening day by a strong male choir, Mr Parker directing. Lectures on nursing, cooking and 1 other subjects will be delivered in connection with the exhibition. The space has'been much over applied for. There is not- sufficient lor all intending exhibitors.
