The British-Zealand Meat Company have received the following cable from London, showing the ruling prices for New Zealand meat.— Mutton : prime Canterbury, 3|d; North Island, 3Jd to 3fd. Lamb : prime Canterbury, 4Ad to 4gd; North Island, 4|d to 44d. Beef: hindquarters 3sd, forequarters, 950 » 8 •
LONDON" WOOL SALES
The Bank of New Zealand has received the following telegram from the London' office re wool sales: “The market, has closed with good demand for all coarse crossbreds and prices are higher from par to ,5 per cent. Tihe marker is weak for fine crossbreds, and prices are unchanged. The market is weak for medium crossbreds, and prices are from par to 5 per cent lower. Total quantity of New Zealand wool held over. 20,000 bales. Current prices for South Island farmers’ lots : Inferior merino common 60-64’s quality, 12Jd to 13|d; half or quarter-bred 56’s quality. Is 3Jd to Is sd. Current' prices for North Island 36-40’s quality, average condition, 9d to 9jd; medium crossbreds, 44-64’s quality, lOd to lOJd; fine crossbreds, 50’s quality, 11 Jd to I2sd.”
