ARRIVAL IN AUCKLAND. AN ENTHUSIASTIC WELCOME. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.j AUCKLAND, June 26. The Wimmera, with the Sheffield Choir, arrived at 4 o’clock'this morning. She was delayed bv stormy weather. The steamer berthed at 9 n.m. An immense crowd on the wharf gave the choir and- leaders a. most enthisiastic reception. Each member of the choir was presented by the Reception Committee with a card containing the names of their hostesses.

Then, at a crowded gathering in the big wharf shed, Mr H. Brett, president of the Reception Commitee, extended to Dr Coward and choir a cordial reception on behalf of the musical people' of the Dominion. He expressed the- belief that the tour of New Zealand would be a financial success. He was sure, that the visit would be a good - stimulus to music fro mi end to end of the Dominion. He added that .an official reception would take place this afternoon, when the Mayor and Minister of Education would be among the speakers. Dr. Harris and Dr. Coward"acknowledged the hearty welcome, the former stating .that the choir had hooked forward to their first visit to the garden of Eden of the over-sea dominions, New Zealand.
