ACCEPTANCES' FOR STEEPLECHASE MEETING.

The following nominations have been received by the secretary (Mr H. E. Dodd) for the first day’s racing in connection with the Gisborne Racing Club’s steeplechase meeting, to commence at the Park on Thursday next, July 6th:

NAPIER PARK WINTER MEETING. WINIATA WINS THE STEEPLES. EPEE PEESS ASSOCIATION.J NAPIER, June 28. The winter meeting of the Napier Park Racing Club was commenced today. Heavy showers fell at frequent intervals, the air was bitinrdy cold, and the course, as well as the ground inside and outside the enclosure in a sloppy condition. The sum of £9479 was invested as against £6030 for last year. The fallowing are the results Moteo Hack Hurdles If miles.— Captain Bell 10.1 (W. Young) 1, Espartero 11.6 (Jerry O’Connell) 2, Tina Toa 9.8 (T. Pine) . Also started: Bollin, Cullinan, Artie, Kildonan,Golden Clasp, Boyne Water, Merrie, Valet, Polynices,

and Whitostone. Won by a length and a half. Time, 3min 26 3-ssec. : Petano. Hack Steenlechase, .about 2 miles—Wirral 9.12 (R. Gray) 1, Hoanga 10.9 (Rangi Thompson) 2. Captain Jingle 10.3 (Joe O’Connell) 3. Also started: Wanstead. Rosegrove, Sardonyx, Castle "Canter, Kobupatiki, Mafuta. Won by half a length, with twenty lengths between second and third.
