WELLINGTON, July 24. At tlie Magistrate’s Court co-day Julius Jorgensen, a sailmaker an mo Duncraig, was committed for vrhu on a charge of assaulting Charles Swanson, causing actual bodily harm. Jorgenson and Swanson quarrelled, and the former is alleged to have stabbed the latter with a knife. N.Z. EMPLOYERS’ ASSOCIATION. The Advisory Board of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation, met today when it was decided to commend the affiliated associations to -gree to the annual meeting of the federation being held this year on September 13th or 20th, instead of at the end of Octooer or the beginning of November, as usual. This action is to ho taken in view of the probability of there being hut a short Par 1 iamentary session. THE PEA RIFLE PERIL. AUCKLAND, July 24. The danger of small boys carrying pea rifles was again exemplified this afternoon. A boy named Arthur E. A» 41croft and a companion, were p-aying with a rifle at Penrose when the charge accidentally went off and the bullet entered the side of Ashcroft's h L dy. Although the lad’s condition is serous the accident is not expected to prove fatal.
