BROOMWICH BEATS O’HALL ORAN (.PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WESTPORT, August 13. The Millerton Boxing Association’s fifth tournament was held last night. In addition to the amateur events, there was a special professional bout of 15 rounds for a purse of £45 between Alf. Broomwich, of Millerton (formerly of New South Wales), and T. O’Halloran, of Waipawa. ‘ Although the latter put up a game fight, Broomwich held the mastery for the seven rounds the bout lasted, Broomwich then winning on a knock-out. JOHNSON TO MEET WELLS.
