SUMMARY AND FORECAST. LFEE PHESB ASSOCIATION.j WELLINGTON, August 24. The Meteorological Office to-night issued the following woatheij summary and forecast:— ; .' ■. . Westerly winds changed to southerly during Wednesday night, and the barometer rose in the south. A southeasterly gale and hail showers were expericiiceci in Foveaux Straits. Showers fell on the west coast and the northernmost districts, and changeable weather has been reported generally. Present indications are for a falling barometer in the north, with high easterly and south-easterly winds, rain, and squally weather. _ The barometer has a rising tendency in the south, and strong ; south-easterly winds and cold and showery weather are probable, with snow on the higher levels.
