WRECKED ON A REEF.
LOSS OF THE KNIGHT OF ST. GEORGE, LITTLE HOPE OF SALVAGE. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.] SUVA, August 30.; The steamer Strathardle has arrived, and reports that the steamer Knight of St. Geoge has been wrecked on a reef near Tonga. The Knight of St. George was due to arrive at Auckland from San Francisco about Sunday last. (Received August 30, 8.30 p.m.) SUVA. August 30. The Knight of St. George was wrecked on the north-west reef off Nukualofa on the 20th, at 3 a.m. The vessel was travelling at half-speed. Numbers 1 and -1 holds are full of water, and it is almost sure that the ship will be a total wieeic. Captain Stephen is standing by his ship, endeavoring to salvage the valuable cargo, including motor cars. The ship was ten miles out of her course, and the captain blames the currents. The Strathardle awaits here for cabled orders.
